Glutathione and aging

on
Aging is associated with a decrease in the plasma concentration of antioxidants and an increase in oxidative stress even in people in the absence of disease.
A disease, particularly an acute disease that requires hospitalization, is associated with significant changes in antioxidant levels and the presence of oxidative stress.
Different observations and clinical studies supported the hypothesis that oxidative stress due to low Glutathione (GSH) levels may have an important etiological role and the use of oral antioxidants such as Glutathione a potential therapeutic role.
