Endocrinology hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism:
High levels of oxidative stress can block the conversion of the hormone T4 to T3 (active form), resulting in a dysfunction of the hormone's action. Therefore, the depletion of antioxidants such as glutathione (GSH) should always be avoided. Maintaining high glutathione levels helps prevent and revive oxidative stress, allowing the conversion of thyroid hormones to remain uninhibited.
